  • Hi everyone!!

i am planning to be back in Sydney once again on Sunday. January - February is probably my favourite time of year - with all these people to catchup with following holidays, electives combined with the fact that most things havn't started up yet so people also have to time to spend just vegin out :)

got asked in an email what prayer points i have for this year. this is what i said.

"Well im starting a new year, my last year of medicine with certain decisions to make on where im going to live, work and go to church for next year when i begin life as a intern.
This year im living with a new set of flatmates and hoping to be able to get along ok and to be a good testament- both to the non-Christian friend and the Christian friend. Ill probably also be making decisions on how im going to serve at church this year (bible study leading, kids church etc..).
I guess on a personal front, we've all come back from africa changed by the experience of seeing God's world and meeting his people from a faraway land and Id like to see that in practice as i go about life back in the western world again - humility, patience, willingness to use the gifts God has given me, making the most of opportunities to serve and seek the lost and escaping the cluttered lifestyle that so often clouds our view of eternity... i guess i could go on but thats a good start!"

I suppose if i had a resolution its to be constant in prayerful reliance on God in all things. ITs something i really struggle with but hopefully we'll remove some of that clutter and replace with the substance that really counts! :)

    CYU all soon!@

  • Hi everyone!
In case you're wondering, yes we did make it up Kili - and what an amazing experience it was to hike above the cloud line, to see the landscape change from the rainforest down below to the alpine forest to the lunar lanscape of the peak where nothing lives to the snow caps of the summit and glaciers!

Sam got a little altitude sick, i was just a bit unfit and Andy pretty much mowed down the mountain like a walk in the park. Anyway it snowed like crazy on the top (one of the biggest falls in recent times) so we missed out on the famous sunrise from the summmit but we got some awesome photos of us all freezing and covered in icicles.

More on that later - its safari time and it sounds like the Wildebeest are still migrating and the parks are nice and green :)
